Several students opt for Europe to pursue their higher studies as it is both an academically and culturally enriching continent. Within Europe, France is a popular destination among students as the tuition is comparatively lower than many of its European counterparts. In addition to being home to some of the best corporations in the world, French universities provide their students with world-class research facilities that students can gain much from. It has historically been a culturally rich city and students can take advantage of this during their stay. In choosing to study abroad, another great institution is Germany. German universities create employable people out of its education and the cities offer affordable living costs. Further, Germany is a medley of both classical and modern cultural aspects and can be an eye-opener for students who opt to study here. German universities are largely preferred as they offer world-class education to international students with public universities charging no tuition fee and private universities charging only minimal fees. The universities are globally ranked high and several courses like medicine and pharmacy are some of the best in the world. In addition, a wide variety of courses are offered to students. In addition to this, international students can work upto 20 hours a day. Such an experience can add to their CV and increase employability. Students can also learn a new language and enjoy the cultural heritage of Germany. Students also opt for Italy as a study destination. The country is home to several universities like the University of Bologna. Further, the tuition fees are comparatively much lower than several other countries in the world. The country is also home to beaches, museums and several UNESCO World Heritage Centres and will expose students to one of the most delicious cuisines in the world. Several students find that Italy is a great destination to gain exposure to art, fashion and culture. Studying in Switzerland is a great option for students as it is a diverse nation with four national languages. Switzerland is also home to the scenic Swiss Alps and students can gain much from the treks and adventure sports available here. The cities are also breathtakingly beautiful and its high quality higher education makes it a great destination to pursue higher studies in.

For those opting for undergraduate admission in French universities, one can opt for courses in Medicine, Geography, Pharmacology, Art History, Linguistics and Communication among others. To be eligible for undergraduate education in France, applicants must have completed the French baccalaureate or equivalent. Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Germany is slightly different. In addition to their Secondary Level Certification/12th grade, students have to complete either one of a year of undergraduate studies, pass the JEE Advanced or cleared specific entrance examinations in the country. In Italy, undergraduate applicants are required to have a high school certificate and may additionally be required to show proof of proficiency in Italian. For admission to undergraduate programmes in Swiss universities, applicants are required to submit proof of completion of high school and may be required to submit proof of having completed an English Language Proficiency Test for courses taught in English.

Graduate admission in Europe is also much sought after. French Universities follow a structure that encourages critical thinking, allowing students to tailor their courses into teaching units. Students are also asked to complete a dissertation. German universities require students to have completed a relevant Bachelor’s degree in order to gain admission into their Master’s programme. Several universities require proof of proficiency in German while many universities that offer courses taught in English require proof of proficiency in the English language. An Italian Master’s lasts two years with the last semester often being devoted to a dissertation. Proof of proficiency in Italian may be required. As for Switzerland, while Swiss universities do have a research component, they also concentrate on taught modules that impart advanced knowledge to its students. Graduate education at most of these European universities is offered at relatively low tuition rates or is free as in the case of Germany. Students hoping to pursue their PhD at universities in Europe can enrol in pre-defined, paid PhD vacancies offered by university departments.

As for business schools, France has some of the best MBA programmes in the world. With funding options available, students can opt for specializing in Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and extensive further subjects. With the minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree, some universities may require a few years of work experience. In Germany, there are several MBA programmes offered and they promote a critical understanding of the field. German universities require a Bachelor’s degree, GRE/GMAT. Professional experience is often an advantage. An MBA in Germany can last 24 months. As for colleges in Italy, they offer MBA programmes in English, and accept the IELTS or TOEFL as proof of English Language Proficiency. Similarly, Switzerland offers several MBA programmes that are tailored to students’ needs and taught in English.
