Study Visa Canada

Students are issued a study permit to be eligible to study in Canada. However, in addition to this, a visitor Visa is given to students to authorize entry into the country. Students from India, China, Morocco, The Philippines, Senegal and Vietnam can apply for the same online using a provision called the Student Direct Stream. There are several conditions on the duration of the Visa with students being allowed to stay in Canada for the duration of their study and an additional year in case of a foundation course. Students whose courses end prior to the duration of the study permit will be allowed to reside in Canada for 90 days following the end of their course.

The following documents are required for students to gain a study visa to Canada. One must possess an offer letter from a recognized university in Canada. Further, a valid international passport is necessary. Financial proof is necessary. Here, students have to prove that they have resources to support both themselves and any accompanying members. For this purpose, students must possess a valid Canadian bank account in their name and must provide data of bank statements for the past four months. Students also have the option of showing proof of funding from their university, if any, for the same. Typically, in addition to the tuition, students must possess 10000 $CAD. A letter of explanation is necessary, where students explain why they would require a Canadian Visa. For identification purposes, students will also have to provide their biometric data. Data like fingerprints will be recorded for the same. Depending on the available options, students can obtain their visas before entry into the country or at the entry point. However, it is recommended that the Visa process is completed prior to entry into the country. Career counselling services can assist you enormously in this feat.

It is recommended that students apply online for their Visas. In addition to being a convenient procedure, an online application assures the speedy and safe transfer of essential documents to the country. Following application, students may be asked for an interview process with Canadian representatives in their home countries. They may be asked to submit further information, take a medical exam or submit a police certificate if necessary. When in the country, students will have to upload and update details like their current resident address in Canada and telephone number onto the application portal.
